About This

• A CLASSIC OF JAPANESE SWEETS – TRADITIONAL YOKAN – Yokan is one of the most beloved Japanese sweets, known for its rich, jelly-like texture made by heating red bean paste, sugar, and agar. This traditional dessert has a springy bite and a satisfying sweetness, making it a favorite treat among fans of wagashi Japanese sweets.
• MADE WITH PREMIUM JAPANESE WASANBON SUGAR – The sweetness in this yokan comes from Wasanbon, Japan’s highest-grade sugar. Handcrafted in small batches in Kagawa and Tokushima prefectures, this rare sugar is made using traditional techniques passed down for generations. It lends a delicate, refined sweetness unlike any ordinary sugar.
• SMOOTH WHITE KOSHIAN BEAN PASTE – Instead of the usual red bean paste, this yokan uses white koshian paste made from white peas and lima beans, combined with Wasanbon for a light, elegant flavor. It's smooth, firm, and naturally gluten-free, with no wheat or artificial ingredients.
• SLOW-COOKED FOR DEPTH AND FLAVOR – This yokan is carefully cooked 1.5 to 2 times longer than standard versions to deepen its flavor. No artificial coloring is added—the beautiful caramel hue is all thanks to slow cooking. The result is a rich, well-balanced sweetness that lingers on the palate.
• PERFECT WITH TEA OR COFFEE – A DELIGHTFUL TREAT – Whether paired with Japanese tea, black tea, or coffee, this Japanese red bean sweet is a perfect match. Enjoy it as a refined dessert, a mid-day indulgence, or as part of a traditional tea ceremony experience.
• This winter, enjoy premium Japanese specialty foods and teas from Yamasan Kyoto Uji—perfect as gifts for others, a self-indulgent treat, or for creating a festive Christmas feast to share with family and friends.
